The EUR 500 note is usually not found in daily cash transactions. If you accept EUR 500 notes in your store, examine them carefully. We advise to scan this note in all 4 orientations. If any error message occurs, or when in doubt, we advise not to accept this note. 

The ECB has ceased producing and issuing EUR 500 notes since 2018.
